Mathnasium Facebook Fan Page Design

This Post is Written in : 6 July 2010, Under Category :

I should write about some more of our recent designs, but since I haven’t written about any of our facebook fan page web design projects I thought I would mention this one. We just finished creating a Facebook fan page for Mathnasium in Cypress, TX. We set up the entire fan page and created 3 custom landing pages on it. You can check it out by clicking here:

  • What is a custom landing page for on Facebook? (is it the programs, method, etc… on the Mathnasium page??)
Also, how are they created, or why?
Do you think it is better to customize pages for businesses?

Sorry, I am a neophyte at all of this!
If I had the time, I would research, but need to get to work now!

I am trying to improve the ProLine page on FB that I just created.

    Darlene,

It’s the Welcome, Programs and Summer Programs pages. They are written using Facebook Markup Language (FBML) which allows you to create nice looking web pages on a facebook fan page. It makes your Facebook Fan page look more professional.

You can also make it so that when new visitors arrive at your fan page they are directed to a custom landing page that uses FBML on it. For Mathnasium, we made the Welcome page for that purpose. If you aren’t logged into facebook and you go their fan page or if you haven’t liked their fan page yet then when you go to their fan page the Welcome page is displayed. On the page you can tell your visitors what you want them to do (give them a sales pitch, show them a video, have them opt-in to your newsletter, etc.) In other words it’s very useful for businesses to setup a custom facebook landing page like the welcome page on Mathnasium.

    Hope that helps.

Oh, it looks like it is going to the Method page now (which is also an FBML page we made for them).

    Hi Darlene,

One thing that you could easily add to the site is a “review” tab. There are quite a few applications/tabs available for facebook fan pages. The advantage of custom pages is that you’re not limited to pages that have already been designed. You can put anything you like on a facebook page using facebook markup language.
